With every year that goes by, the auto industry makes plans to release several of the most expected prototypes of the present year. Rumors begin to roll as the media begins to make assumptions. Car buyers and enthusiasts are eagerly waiting and anticipating which manufacturer will provide the coolest, most energy-efficient, most convenient, and fastest vehicles on the market. We’re at the end of 2016, and the industry is packed with both unofficial and official updates on redesign tweaks and technologies for 2017. That being said, some of the most anticipated releases for the following year are:
Acura NSX
Introduced in 2012, it looks like the Acura NSX will finally switch from being a prototype to a ready-to-buy vehicle in 2017. Featuring a turbocharged V6 engine, an electric engine for each front wheel, and a starting price of $150,000, the Acura NSX is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most awaited cars of the decade. The super car is highly technical, and to many enthusiasts it is quite thrilling. We love the design – it’s sleek, ingenious, and incredibly appealing. The pulse-pounding performance is paired with every day usability for a smooth driving experience. The automatic 9-speed dual clutch, side impact beams, and driver knee airbags are just some of its pioneering built-in features.
Apple Car
At this point, the Apple Car is just a rumor. But what if it hit the streets in 2017 if the rumors are true? Everything will change. The self-driving vehicle will shake up the auto industry completely, not to mention that Google will probably have the biggest surprise. The Silicon Valley tech company has been interested in what autonomous cars can do for several years now, and they certainly don’t like that Google’s driverless car gets all the attention. If the Apple Car becomes real, it will probably be the most advanced tech car on the market. In all honestly, we doubt that Apple will come up with a vehicle until it is 100% sure that it’s something ground-breaking.
Lincoln Continental
Everyone wants to get their hands on the Lincoln Continental. Ford revealed the prototype for the first at the New York Auto Show, in 2015, and since then many people have been wondering when it will be available for sale. The automaker shocked everyone with this stunning concept. It has clear hints of the classic Lincoln models, but it looks more polished. Some say it resembles a Bentley design, and rumor has it that it will be available in the first quarter of 2017.
Chevrolet Equinox
Industry experts claim that the most recent variant of Chevrolet’s Equinox model will be perfectly capable to compete with other compact SUVs on the market, including Hyundai Tucson, Ford Escape, and Honda CR-V. for 2017, we expect to see a completely redesigned vehicle, with engine choices, all-wheel drive features, and lots of options for safety gear. New features include low-speed automatic braking, collision warning, four camera surround vision, and safety alert seating for the driver and passengers.
Porsche Cayenne
Porsche has big plans for 2017. They’ve already added 3D rear lights in the latest Panamera model. For the Cayenne, they’ve decided to make it 200 pounds more lightweight than the current generation. Also, we should expect a more muscular Cayenne with a totally updated interior, fine Porsche accessories, and more prominent fenders. On the inside, buttons will be replaced with touch controls, thus making the car high-tech and extremely advanced. Featuring a supercharged V6 hybrid powertrain in one of their core models, it’s safe to say the newest Porsche Cayenne will exceed the expectations of all Porsche fans.
Lexus LS
Last but not least, we have the newest Lexus LS that will soon go from concept straight to the streets. When Lesus revealed the next generation of Lexus cars – the LS included – in 2015 at the Tokyo Motor Show, the crowd was stunned by the exterior design. According to some officials, the cars will probably make its grand debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2017, and sales will probably be scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. Based on the LF-FC concept, Lexus LS features an exquisite L-Finesse design with a longer wheel base and opulent exterior designs.
